Wheatley Sophomore Wins Earth Day Art Contest

Congratulations to Sophia Gao, a sophomore at The Wheatley School, for being named the winner of the Town of North Hempstead’s 2025 Earth Day Tree Contest! Inspired by The Lorax by Dr. Seuss, Sophia’s artwork captured powerful messages of environmental care and creativity.

Her winning piece was proudly displayed at the Clark Botanic Garden Spring Fest in Albertson on May 3, where families enjoyed a full day of nature walks, crafts, and community celebration. Well done, Sophia!
