Mineola Students Kick Off 2026-27 School Year

Mineola students returned to classrooms on Sept. 1, bringing smiles, school pride and enthusiasm to the first day of the 2026-27 school year.

Across the district, students reconnected with friends, greeted their teachers and settled into classrooms for a new year of learning, creativity and growth.

Despite the rainy weather, Mineola High School’s eighth graders closed out the day with a barbecue featuring food grilled by their teachers. Students also added their colorful fingerprints to a tree artwork that will be displayed in the school.

The first day reflected the energy and community spirit that will carry Mineola’s students, educators and families through the year ahead.
