Mineola Athletics Supervisor Earns National Certification

Mineola Public Schools Supervisor of Physical Education, Health and Athletics Christopher McCann has earned the Certified Athletic Administrator designation from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.

The certification recognizes athletic administrators who demonstrate advanced knowledge and professional competence in areas including program administration, student safety, community engagement and professional development. Candidates must undergo an evaluation of their education, administrative experience and contributions to school athletics before completing a comprehensive written examination.

“This certification reflects Chris’s steadfast commitment to operational excellence and student success,” Interim Superintendent Catherine Fishman said. “His ongoing professional growth directly benefits our coaching staff, athletic programs and, most importantly, our student-athletes across the district.”

Since joining Mineola in 2023, McCann has worked to strengthen the district’s athletic operations, support its coaching staff and foster a culture of sportsmanship, integrity and pride among Mustang student-athletes.
