Holla for Challah! Community Comes Together for Hands-On Baking Workshop
By Donna McKenna
The smell of freshly baked bread filled the Williston Park Library as community members gathered for a warm and welcoming challah baking program led by Debby Goldman of Debby’s Kitchen. The hands-on workshop gave participants everything they needed to make their own braided loaf—from individual ingredient kits to baking pans—and step-by-step guidance from Debby herself.
Laughter, conversation, and the satisfying sounds of dough being kneaded filled the room as attendees learned the art and tradition behind challah baking. By the end of the session, the group had not only created their own beautiful loaves to take home, but also sampled some of the delicious challah baked earlier that morning—receiving rave reviews all around.
A big thank-you to Debby for sharing her talent and warmth with the community, and to the Williston Park Library for hosting such a meaningful and memorable event.
