By Christy Herring
The 2025 Wheatley Girls Varsity Volleyball season will forever be remembered as one of the most remarkable eras in program history. With an extraordinary 16–2 record in conference play and an 18–3 finish overall, the Wildcats delivered a championship run that redefined what Wheatley Volleyball stands for.
What started as a group with strong potential grew into a powerhouse team—claiming the Nassau Class B Championship, the Long Island Championship, and earning Wheatley’s first-ever appearance in the Regional Finals.
This roster didn’t just elevate their performance. They elevated the entire identity of Wheatley Volleyball.
A Season Built on Heart, Discipline, and Belief
Wheatley’s road to greatness was marked by resilience, trust, and a refusal to back down in the biggest moments. They began the season with a united locker room and a renewed sense of purpose. They ended it with championship hardware—and a legacy that will serve as the foundation for every future team.
Winning the Nassau Class B Championship was a breakthrough moment.
Winning the Long Island Championship—for the first time in school history—was transformative.
Advancing to the Regional Finals placed Wheatley among the most successful teams the school has ever seen.
