A Centennial Celebration of Friendship Between East Williston and Williston Park

By Williston Post Staff

As the Villages of East Williston and Williston Park celebrate their 100th anniversaries, a special exchange of gifts has highlighted the enduring friendship and shared history between the two neighboring communities.

During a recent centennial ceremony in Williston Park, Mayor Paul Ehrbar presented East Williston with a beautiful bronze statue depicting a playful young girl, a symbolic gesture officially commemorating East Williston as Williston Park's "sister village."

Both villages were incorporated separately in 1926 and are proudly celebrating a century of community, growth and tradition this year.

The thoughtful gift follows East Williston's presentation of a tree and commemorative plaque to Williston Park, with the hope that the tree will grow strong and remain a lasting symbol of friendship for another 100 years.

The bronze statue will eventually find a permanent home in East Williston, serving as a reminder of the special bond between the two villages.

The exchange of gifts reflects the strong sense of community, mutual respect and neighborly spirit that have connected East Williston and Williston Park for generations.

As both villages mark this historic milestone, the gestures serve as a meaningful tribute to their shared past and a celebration of the friendship that will continue into the next century.
