East Williston to Mark 25th Anniversary of 9/11

The Village of East Williston will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks with a film presentation and candlelight vigil on Friday, Sept. 11.

The program will begin at 6 p.m. inside Village Hall with a 30-minute film featuring first-person accounts of the attacks and their aftermath. Created by the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, the film is designed for both children and adults.

A candlelight vigil will follow at 6:45 p.m. on the Village Green. The vigil will begin earlier than usual to accommodate residents who wish to be home by sundown.
