Two students from The Wheatley School—sophomore Suhani Khanna and eighth grader May Michaeli—have been honored for their exceptional writing in the 2025 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens.

Suhani Khanna received an Honorable Mention for her short story “The Crow.” Known for her thoughtful prose and ability to explore complex themes with depth and clarity, Suhani continues to impress with her commitment to the craft of storytelling.

May Michaeli earned the distinguished “Silver Key” for her personal essay and memoir titled “The Quest for Identity.” In her piece, May reflects on the meaning behind her name and how it connects to her cultural identity—demonstrating both personal insight and literary skill.

The Scholastic Awards recognize student work based on originality, technical ability, and unique personal vision. The Wheatley community is proud of both students for their creativity and dedication.
