Mineola Public Schools is proud to announce that seven talented high school chorus students have been selected to perform in the 2026 American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Eastern Region Honor Choirs. This achievement marks a historic milestone for the district — the first time Mineola will have student representation in every High School Honor Choir at the conference.
The ACDA Eastern Region conference will take place in Providence, Rhode Island from February 25–28, 2026.
This year’s honorees include:
Sophia Probst, who will perform with the Treble Chorus
Leah Anzalone, Brooke Anzalone, Grace Cosgrove, Sarah Geoghan, and Jason Morgan, who will perform with the Contemporary A Cappella Fusion Choir
Rachel Fogarty, who will perform with the Mixed Chorus
Dr. Megan Messina, vocal music teacher at Mineola High School, praised the students for their exceptional dedication and artistry.
“Acceptance at a conference like this is a huge honor for these singers, one that they’ve each earned on their own merits and abilities,” Dr. Messina said. “It is representative not only of the comprehensive K–12 music education they’ve received in Mineola, but of their music literacy, independence, history of participation in the arts, and courage to take on new and artistically challenging experiences. ACDA is a wonderful organization that offers enriching experiences to young musicians, and I couldn’t be prouder of each of these singers for having earned this opportunity.”
Students are selected for the ACDA Honor Choirs through an extremely competitive blind audition process that evaluates vocal beauty, musicality, and the ability to prepare advanced choral repertoire with accuracy and nuance. Those chosen will join top high school performers from 11 northeastern states to rehearse and perform under the guidance of nationally renowned choral conductors.
For these Mineola musicians, the experience promises to be both challenging and deeply rewarding — a testament to their hard work and the strength of Mineola’s music education program.
