How to Take Care of a Guinea Pig
By Anika Katwala and Smore
You need to have a home for the guinea pig, so get a big enough cage, so it has a place to eat, sleep and drink water.
You need to go to a pet store and get a food bowl and food pellets because you will need a place for the food to go and a guinea pig will need food to survive.
A guinea pig needs water to drink, so make sure you get a guinea pig water bottle that you can attach to the side of the cage.
Most guinea pigs like hay, so you should get hay and a place for the hay to go.
Most guinea pigs have a lot of energy and need to burn it off so you can get something fun for in the cage.
Since a guinea pig needs sleep you should get it a place to sleep peacefully.
In my class we have a guinea pig named Smore. Every weekend someone will take home Smore. To take home Smore, the teacher will have a sign up sheet and if your mom or dad says yes, then they can sign up and take her home.
