Senior Allison Belaks of The Wheatley School has been selected by The Art Guide for their 2025 Nassau County High School Juried Art Competition and Exhibition. Her oil pastel piece, titled “Uncertain,” was selected for the exhibit which will be on view from Nov. 2-29. She is also invited to attend their Artist’s Reception and Awards Ceremony on Nov. 2.
The competition and event highlights students using fine art to express themselves and rewards the hard work they have created in a gallery exhibition.
“This event allows art to be recognized as a universal language and also allows others to see artwork created by students at The Wheatley School in a professional setting,” said art teacher Julia Maloney.
"Through my artwork, I’m able to connect with the people around me and share the way I view the world,” said Belaks.
According to their website, The Art Guild of Port Washington, Inc., is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to creating an inclusive and enriching home for visual arts education, exploration and exhibition. It is an organization open to all people with a common goal to advance the visual arts.
