A Grand Slam of a Reunion at the 3rd Annual Wheatley Alumni Baseball/Softball Game

By David Burke

The third time really was the charm for the Wheatley Alumni Baseball/Softball Game!

This year’s event brought together about 20 former Wildcats, with graduating classes ranging from 1985 all the way to 2024. With gloves on and spirits high, the alumni took the field for a friendly (and slightly competitive) showdown that proved the love of the game—and of Wheatley—never fades.

In classic high-scoring fashion, Team Red edged out Team Black with a thrilling 22–21 victory, fueled by laughter, line drives, and just the right amount of questionable base running.

A huge thank you goes to The Wildcat Athletic Foundation for supporting this event, and to all the former players who came out to relive old memories and create new ones.

This game is more than just a reunion—it's a tradition that reconnects teammates, builds new friendships, and keeps the Wildcat spirit alive. We can’t wait to do it again next year, same time, same place!
