A Fall Tradition Returns: Pumpkin Patch at the Community Church

By James Daw

The Community Church of East Williston is celebrating its Centennial this year and, as part of the festivities, one of the community’s favorite fall traditions is back in full swing — the Pumpkin Patch!

This season, the church lawn is once again filled with bright orange pumpkins, colorful squashes, and cheerful autumn mums — a sight that always draws residents and passersby alike. Even if you’ve already picked your pumpkin, there’s usually room for just one more, and it’s well worth the visit.

Every purchase from the Pumpkin Patch supports a greater cause. Proceeds benefit the Community Church and its many charitable programs across Long Island. In addition, the pumpkins are sourced from farming cooperatives operated by the Navajo Nation in New Mexico, helping to sustain Indigenous agricultural communities.

So stop by, take in the fall colors, and pick your favorite pumpkin. You’ll be supporting both local and national communities — and as always, every pumpkin from the CCEW Patch is truly a GREAT pumpkin! 🎃
