A Colorful Start to Summer Reading in East Williston

By Jamie Cutinella

What a perfect morning to kick off the East Williston Library’s Summer Reading Program!

Under sunny skies and cheerful vibes, families gathered on the Village Green for a festive celebration filled with laughter, creativity, and community spirit.

Kids enjoyed classic carnival games, got creative at the coloring station, and sent kites soaring into the blue sky. A lively DJ kept the energy up with music that had everyone dancing, while the crowd couldn’t get enough of the rainbow bagels—just as tasty as they were eye-catching!

This year’s Summer Reading theme is “Color Our World”—and kids up to age 9 are invited to do just that through the magic of books. For every book read and returned to the library between June 23rd and August 15th, participants receive one raffle ticket for a chance to win weekly prizes. The more you read, the more chances you have to win!

It’s a joyful way to dive into a season full of stories, imagination, and adventure—one book at a time.
