Highlights from Recent East Williston Village Events

In the tight-knit community of East Williston, it's the exceptional residents who elevate our town. Recently, we had the honor of celebrating some of these remarkable members, and recognizing new members taking leadership positions. Here's a glimpse of the recent occasions:

New Leadership Takes Oath of Office

At the annual installation meeting on April 1, led by East Williston Mayor Bonnie Parente, the community witnessed to a pivotal moment in our village's governance. As the budget passed, several individuals stepped forward to assume key roles:

·       Anthony Gallo ascended to the position of Deputy Mayor, poised to serve with unwavering dedication and leadership.

·       Rushi Vaidya was warmly welcomed as the newest Trustee, bringing fresh perspectives and a steadfast commitment to enhancing our community.

·       Emil Samuels took the solemn oath as the Village Judge, entrusted with the paramount duty of ensuring justice and fairness for all.

·       Tom Blennau embraced the role of Associate Judge, bringing his wealth of legal expertise and dedication to the bench, promising equitable decisions for all who seek justice.

New Appointments Across Village Boards

In a testament to the village's commitment to diversity and expertise in decision-making, new members were welcomed to various boards, each tasked with shaping the future of our community:

  • Tim Kelly joined the Zoning Board, ready to offer his insights and uphold the integrity of our zoning regulations.

  • Michael Vecchione, Rize Susel, and Shawn Dooley assumed positions on the Planning Board, entrusted with guiding the thoughtful development of our village.

  • The esteemed 100 Year Historic Committee welcome Raffaela Dunne, Kevin Parente, Jim Daw and Elyse Vaidya, charged with the vital task of preserving our rich heritage for generations to come.

  • The critical responsibility of ensuring the safety and well-being of our community was entrusted to Patrick Theodore and John Signorelli, who were appointed as Fire Commissioners.

Amidst the celebrations, heartfelt recognition was paid by Parente and others to the outgoing Trustee James Lark about his dedicated service to our community, highlighting the profound impact he has made during his tenure.
